Renewable Fuel Technologies
Permafuels is actively pursuing three new biofuel technologies:
- We have teamed with NC State University on the development of a thermocatalytic biofuel process which converts biological fats and oils to drop-in replacements for hydrocarbon fuels, including jet fuel, diesel fuel, and gasoline.
- We currently hold an option for the license of technology for a glycerol burner, which results in virtually complete combustion of glycerol, eliminating toxic combustion products, such as acrolein. Glycerol is a frequent byproduct of biofuel production processes involving fats and oils.
- We are also developing a new, non-catalytic biodiesel production process which will work well with low-quality fuelstocks, while producing high-quality fuel and glycerol product streams.
We are not afraid to explore new ideas in the pursuit of engineering excellence!
